Protect What You've Built.
Plan What Comes Next.

Gray Halstead Financial helps families protect their income, prepare for life's financial risks and build stronger long-term financial plans.

The Gray Halstead proposition

Two sides of the same plan

Most families meet these as separate conversations with separate people. Here they are one relationship, which is what makes the coverage and the plan agree with each other.

01

Protect

Insurance and risk mitigation. Income, health events, and end-of-life costs covered deliberately, sized to real obligations.

Insurance Solutions
02

Build

Family financial planning and long-term strategy. Cash flow, reserves, education, retirement, and wealth transfer coordinated over time.

Family Financial Planning

Who we serve

Four kinds of households

We work where the stakes are specific. If your situation is not among these, say so — we will tell you plainly whether we are the right fit.

01

Families

Households where one or two incomes support children, a mortgage, and years of obligations still ahead.

02

Professionals

Earners whose income is their largest asset and whose employer coverage rarely matches their responsibilities.

03

Business owners

Owners balancing personal protection with continuity, key people, and the value tied up in the business.

04

Approaching retirement

People within a decade of leaving full-time work, sequencing income and protecting against late-stage risk.

Insurance solutions

Coverage chosen for obligations

Each product exists to solve a specific problem. Every recommendation states its trade-offs, costs, and limitations before you decide.

Family financial planning

More than a policy file.

Insurance answers one question. A plan answers the rest: what money is doing each month, what happens if it stops, and how what you have built moves to the next generation.

The Gray Halstead process

A deliberate sequence

Five steps, in order. The last one is the reason clients stay: circumstances change, and a plan that is never revisited quietly stops being true.

  1. 01

    Understand

We learn about the family — who depends on whom, and what is already in place.

  2. 02

    Assess

Identify risks, gaps and financial priorities before any product is discussed.

  3. 03

    Design

Build a coordinated strategy where protection and planning work together.

  4. 04

    Implement

Put appropriate solutions into place, with costs and limitations stated plainly.

  5. 05

    Review

Revisit the plan as the family evolves, and adjust deliberately.

Why Gray Halstead

What actually differs

GH

Family-centered planning

The unit of analysis is the household, not the individual policy. Decisions are weighed against who is affected.

GH

One relationship, both sides

Protection and financial planning are handled together, so coverage is sized against the plan rather than sold beside it.

GH

Education before product selection

You should be able to explain your own plan — what it costs, what it does, and where it stops.

GH

Long-term review model

Plans are revisited on a schedule. A recommendation that fit five years ago is checked against today.

GH

Suitability-led access

Insurance solutions are considered based on suitability and need, with trade-offs and limitations disclosed.

Questions

Before we meet

Straight answers to what families usually ask first.

Is Gray Halstead an insurance agency?

Insurance is one part of the work. The relationship starts with family financial planning — cash flow, reserves, education, retirement and wealth transfer — and coverage is considered where a real risk needs to be transferred.

What happens in a first consultation?

A conversation about your household, obligations and what you already hold. Nothing is recommended in the first meeting; we look at the picture before discussing anything specific.

Do I have to buy a policy to work with you?

No. Some conversations end with adjusting what you already have, or with no purchase at all. If existing coverage is adequate, we will say so.

How are you paid?

When an insurance policy is placed, the issuing carrier pays a commission. That is disclosed before you decide, along with the costs and limitations of the policy itself.

How often is the plan reviewed?

On a set schedule, and whenever the family changes — a birth, a move, a new income, a loss. A plan that is never revisited quietly stops being accurate.

Do you work with people outside Texas?

We are based in Texas and meet locally or by video with licensed professionals. Insurance products are offered only where appropriate licensing is in place.
